Information for Disabled Visitors

At Sopley School we extend a warm welcome to all our visitors. We are aware that some visitors will have additional needs and will do our best to ensure that we cater for these. The more notice we have the better able we will be to help, so please feel free to contact the school office prior to your visit – see details below.

Our car park for visitors is located at the front of the school – there is a disabled parking space next to the visitor’s entrance. There is an entry phone system to gain access to the building but some visitors may find the doors rather difficult – the school office is adjacent to the entrance and the staff who answer the buzzer will be happy to assist.

The main school building is wheelchair accessible. However, our school is small and much of it Victorian so access is not purpose built. If you use a wheelchair and are coming to work with children in the infant department please let us know and we can arrange for another working space. We have wheel chair users in the building on a regular basis, staff and pupils are sensitive to their needs.

There is a unisex accessible toilet in the building.

Documents can be provided in large print on request.

If we have not provided the information you need please contact the school office, we will do our best to help.
